finish his dissertation before his one-year old daughter
turns 18! He is married to Selena who has been a
"teacher" in an alternative learning
environment and is currently a "homemaker".
Nigel swears that everything he now believes about
education and children has been reshaped because of his
interactions with her.

Nayak started off as a broadcast journalist in
a mainstream news channel before moving away to teach,
travel, farm and make a knife from scratch. Wants to
grow her own vegetables soon, learn an Indian musical
instrument someday and dreams of bathing elephants with
a pail in one hand and a big coir brush in the other. Is
currently working on a documentary on the dangers of

?is a textile designer, curriculum designer, life
skills facilitator, consultant for activity-based
learning, and preschool teacher with Montessori training
from New York. Feels at home in the mountains and has
enjoyed experiences of the wilderness since the age of
two.

photographer living in San Francisco. She has put her
MFA from Tufts University to phenomenal use by working
very
happily in a worker-owned grocery collective.
Seinberg been widely published and collected
internationally. She loves kosher pickles and hopes to
visit India one day.

Haokip is a case manager with people with
disabilities in a non-for-profit agency. She has been
working in this field for 10 years. Prior to moving to
USA, she was working as a speech and language therapist
at VVS, New Delhi. She is interested in travelling and
watching movies is one of her passions. Currently, she
is doing her PhD thesis from JNU, New Delhi, which she
hopes to finish soon!!

Mukherjee has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and
Economics from Oxford University and is currently a
student of Public Affairs at Princeton University. Has
spent time working with an activist NGO in rural Orissa,
researching public policy in New Delhi, working for the
government of India, and coordinating the construction
of HIV clinics in Africa.
